Everyone talks about IoT and M2M. All operators and large services providers like Ericsson, HP and other are predicting huge growth in connection over the mobile networks in the coming year. Saturations, system down, unable to connect and other strange phenomenas will appear more and more. But how IoT will improve our quality of life and reduce global energy consumption? Come and join us to debate on this topic.

Dominique Guinard, CTO of Evrythng (based between Zurich and London)
His presentation: Building a Web of Things: Making Objects, Smart, Simple and Socially-Connected!
Bio: Dominique (aka Dom) got his Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, where he worked on laying down the foundations of the Web of Things: a world-wide network of interconnected objects and co-founded the Before this, he worked on bringing industrial networks of RFID-tagged objects to the Web at the MIT Auto-ID Labs in USA. He also worked 4 years for SAP. Dominique was a researcher at the Auto-ID Labs Zurich, working on mobile interactions with the Internet of Things (IoT) for Nokia. Before this, he worked on scalable IoT enterprise software architectures for Sun Microsystems. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and a BSc in Computer Science and Management from the Universities of Fribourg and Bern with a specialization in mobile and ubiquitous computing at Lancaster University, UK. In 2011, Dominique was listed 5th amongst the top 100 IoT thinkers by Postscapes. Early in 2012, his Ph.D. research was granted the ETH Medal.

Ralph Rimet, CEO of Secu4 (based in Sierre)
His presentation: Start-up, grow and innovate in the Appcessories market. Story of SECU4.
Bio: Former top notch Swiss ice hockey player, Ralph graduated from the Business School of Management (HES) in Lausanne. He has over 10 years of experience in the security market and in innovation. He worked for the well-known Securitas company. Ralph also attended an entrepreneurship training program at the prestigious University of Babson College in Boston, recognized worldwide for the quality of its teaching in entrepreneurship and innovation. Ralph Rimet is the founder and CEO from SECU4 since 2007. SECU4 develops and commercializes mobile phone accessories dedicated to security for private people and for companies.

Marco Brini, CEO of EnvEve (based in Lugano)
His presentation: IoT: from translating the forest stress to change the way we interact with our Things, personal objects and the surrounding environment.
Bio: Marco believes in innovation, passion, vision and…hard work. He actively worked with his teams to successful develop and bring to market 3 relevant technologies and 10 products in the fields of: IT Security, Music download, Sensors, Internet of Things. He co-founded 3 companies, 2 of them operating in his latest passion: the Internet of Things, which Marco approached since 2003. Having a Math degree and an MBA, he worked in Italy, US and India before moving to Switzerland founding EnvEve in 2008. EnvEve developed a market proven IoT technology with unique performances. Now EnvEve is launching a new revolutionary business model to open the IoT real wonderful opportunities to the market.

Laurent Moesle, Business Development Manager at Sigfox (based in Toulouse, France)
His presentation: SIGFOX is the first cellular network operator dedicated to M2M communications and Internet of Things…
Bio: With more than twenty years in international sales of High-Tech systems , Laurent Moesle has extensive experience in corporate account management, business development leading to multi million euros projects in the semiconductor and instrumentation markets. Laurent Moesle has joined SIGFOX to develop the unlimited number of M2M, Internet of Things applications that will benefit from SIGFOX Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) cellular network, dedicated to low throughput data communication from Objects to the Internet.

Alicia Asin Perez, CEO of Libelium (based in Zaragoza, Spain)
Her presentation: “50 applications the internet of things will revolutionize”

Bio: Alicia Asín, Libelium’s Co-Founder and CEO. Computer Engineer by the Polytechnic Center of Zaragoza with studies at the Judge Business School of Cambridge and ESADE. She has research experience in computer security and power consumption in high performance processors. In 2007 she won the Best Paper Award in the Workshop on Computer Architecture Education (San Diego, CA).
