The new format we were investigating last night at MoMo #7, “making money on mobile” was quite appealing to the audience. Please find the few slides of the panelists here.
The debate was so intense that we could not finish all provocative statements that were prepared. However, you are welcome to discuss them in the comments in this blog post.

Personally, I hope that No. 4 “There is a business model for mobile social networks” is true. Do you guys have any ideas about it?
Europe has called for the realisation of SEPA (Single European Payment Area), meaning one payment solution for entire Euro zone, by which Europe forces local payment schemes (cheques, local debit cards) to become obsolete over time.
These local payment schemes (such as PIN in The Netherlands and Bancontact in Belgium) will be replaced by one or more pan European payment systems. The European Committee has urged the European payment industry to develop and launch a truly European payment scheme that can compete with the current industry standards such as Maestro, Mastercard and VISA. Card based systems are widely accepted within the EU. The Payment Card Industry (PCI), mostly controlled by the American parties VISA and Mastercard, are continuously setting new security regulations for all participants in the payment chain, forcing the involved parties to make necessary investments continuously.
EURO-WALLET proposes a new, universal and revolutionary pan European mobile payment and banking system based on the use of a regular mobile phone (SMS and/or GPRS), with a dedicated infrastructure that operates completely separate from the PCI`s infrastructure.
